Stable. Resilient. Nourishing. Bountiful. Grounding.

One commemorative holiday we all share in common is Earth Day. This morning, as a community, let's take a few minutes to honor her glory with this prāṇāyāma (breathing) practice.

INHALE FREELY, LONG AND SMOOTHLY.

REPLACE YOUR EXHALE WITH THE WORDS "STABLE. RESILIENT. NOURISHING. BOUNTIFUL. GROUNDING."

REPEAT 12X.

One commemorative holiday we all share in common is Earth Day. This morning, as a community, let's take a few minutes to honor her glory with this prāṇāyāma (breathing) practice.

Inhale freely, slowly and smoothly. Replace your exhale with the words "Stable. Resilient. Nourishing. Bountiful. Grounding." Repeat 12x. You can also do this mentally; however, aloud yields more focus, especially if this is new to you.

We can increase the earth element in our prāṇāyāma practice every day, supporting a safe and calm inner environment suitable for healing.

  1. Earth mantra-s can help (your Yoga Therapist is sure to be able to support you with that). Nyāsam, or hand placement, can help.

  2. Place the hands on the feet, the knees, the thighs, the hips, anywhere in between. This is the earth section of the body.

  3. Place your hands anywhere, and keep them there, as you breathe, soothing and grounding into the experience with your own warm touch.

  4. Sit on the ground, or even lay on the ground as you breathe.

  5. Visualize you are being nourished by the earth with each inhale, and that you are thanking her with each exhale.
