Ayurvedic Shirodhara and Nasya Treatments
Mar

Ayurvedic Shirodhara and Nasya Treatments

Shirodhara

A deeply calming Ayurvedic therapy in which a continuous, warm stream of herbal oil is gently poured over the forehead area to help quiet the nervous system, support restful sleep, and soothe stress and mental overactivity.

Session Length

  • Shirodhara sessions are approximately 60 to 75 minutes total

  • This includes a brief check-in, Shirodhara treatment, and time to rest afterward

  • Please plan to arrive a few minutes early and allow yourself quiet time following your session

Nasya

A traditional Ayurvedic therapy that supports the sinuses, respiratory system, and clarity of the mind. Nasya is traditionally used to support sinus health, reduce congestion, allergies, ease headaches, and calm the nervous system, while also promoting mental clarity and balance.

Session Length

  • Nasya sessions are approximately 60 to 75 minutes total

  • This includes a brief check-in, Nasya treatment, and time to rest afterward

  • Please plan to arrive a few minutes early and allow yourself quiet time following your session

What to Expect

During the session, you will lie comfortably while the chest, neck, and face are massaged with warm oil. Steamed towels infused with essential oils are applied to encourage opening and circulation, followed by a brief exposure to herbal smoke to help clear excess moisture from the nasal passages. Medicated Nasya oil is then gently administered. You may experience increased drainage, clearer breathing, lightness in the head, emotional release, or a sense of mental quiet. A mild herbal taste or sensation in the throat is common. Gentle activity, hydration, and avoiding strenuous exertion immediately following your session are recommended.

Your Ayurvedic Practitioner

Kimberly Nicholetti studied with the YogaVeda Institute of Ayurvedic Medicine, a program accredited by the Ayurvedic Accreditation Commission (AAC), and earned her title as a Board-Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner through the National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA). Alongside her formal training, she has received specialized advanced training from Wahneta Trotter in classical Ayurvedic therapies including Abhyanga (therapeutic oil massage), Shirodhara (oil streaming therapy), Nasya (nasal therapy), and external Basti treatments. Her Ayurvedic practice is grounded in making healing accessible and personal. She doesn’t believe in strict, one size fits all protocols, but in creating rituals and rhythms that actually fit your life. Whether she’s working on digestion, sleep, trauma, or energy, she always aims to meet you where you are, without shame or overwhelm.
