Thrive Through Chaos
Resisting the chaos only makes it more overwhelming
Thrive through chaos? It’s within reach. As much as we earnestly, sincerely and deeply order our days with rituals of regularity to preserve our sanity and cultivate healthy mind/body/life habits, truth is - everything is constantly in flux. Some amazing fluxing. Some wretched. Keep being steadfast in ritual - but make sure it's supporting thriving in this chaos.
Fortunately, the ultimate Yoga-based “do” to move from survival mode, where we feel bombarded by life, to a trajectory where we thrive, using our Yogic skillset to ride its waves, is within everyone’s reach. Lovingly do your svadharma-s (your personal responsibilities) and faithfully practice appropriate Yoga practices, particularly the subtler ones. If you’re in the middle phase of life, from 25-75, this is the correct method.
What’re the subtler practices? The ones that both require and build awareness: breathing practice, chanting mantra-s and meditation. Yogic meditation encompasses all of these, and Yoga’s subtle tools take us out of the frozen state of overwhelm to settled and clear - giving respite from the storms. Our summer chanting series starts this Tuesday, and the mantra is a core Krishnamacharya lineage, time-tested strategy for listening to nature's secret whispers and decoding them into personal experiences.
What does that mean? The mantra begins with familiar elements and aspects we may have lost touch with and connects the dots. When we can meditate on these connections long-term, we open the door to our hearts and uncover our souls, only to taste the eternal-ness of us, in the context of the grand macrocosm. Sounds spiritually fancy, and it is. But it’s also a way to improve our sense of well-being, the very quality of our actions and lives.
PS: Microdoses of fun and enjoyment can motivate us, inspire us to keep going, provide positive energy and offer just enough of a taste of joy to support positive transformation.
