The Best Day

The best day of July is this Friday, for some of us.

Peaceful, calming, inspiring, fun, connected, meaningful, memorable, transformative, special.

I went to a party on July 4th. Four people I saw there all attended last year's retreat, Summer of Joy. Four people I saw there visibly chilled out when we spoke about it. It's been a whole year. I didn't fully realize the impact it had on them, but they did. And I want you to have that experience, too. A day to remember and treasure happens this Friday, and we still have a couple of spaces open, just for you.

A necessary step on the path of positive transformation is intentional, quality time with the teachings and one another. Yoga is generally a solitary path in that it is a personal discipline fueled by self inquiry and openness to a broader perspective beyond our norm. It’s possible to gain much traction in our daily practices. From time to time, getting together with others who care to take stock of life and recalibrate it renders our collective experience richer.

Connection, reflection and practice in community is underrated. Not just chatting before and after class, but communing surrounding teachings themselves. While in the west people take Yoga classes together all the time, the potency of a more intentional immersion in a teaching, with others, matters. Each retreat we offer centers around a theme. Whosoever chooses to attend will be flooded with positive messaging intended for a trajectory shift. This year’s them is Sovereignty, a state of independence and self-governance in the midst of external and internal pressures and demands.

Joining together, we realize we are not alone. That struggle is universal. That pretense serves no purpose as we quest to discover our authentic selves. Each of us weathers similar life conflicts and challenges, according to Yoga’s ancient philosophy. Sometimes, we may become so wrapped up that we lose sight of the realities and possibilities beyond them. Together, we level the field of human experience. We appreciate the nuances each one of us brings. We curate a safe and pleasant environment to let go of our troubles. We give permission to find new aspects of who we are, some of which get buried in life’s constant fluxing.

A necessary step on the path of personal transformation, in our Yoga Foundation community, happens to be upon us this summer. Try a little retreat. It’s a gateway to a broader, extended experience that will come in our future programming.
